Flags of our Fathers
This book is about the six soilders that raised the flag in Iwo Jima Mike Strank, Harlon Block, John Bradley, Gene Gagnon, Franklin Sousley, Ira Hayes. After the picture of the flag raising all six soldiers were taken back to the U.S.A. and became famous as war heroes, but most of the flag raisers said "We arent war heroes at all, we just raised a flag on top of the island." Then there were some of them that said "The real war heroes are the ones that died on the island." John Bradley also stated "I just jumped in to help a couple of marines that were having trouble raising a big pole. If not all of the flag raisers never talked about there experience on the island, or the very famous picture. In the book it also states that to the day they all died they had horrifing nightmares about there war time on the island.
